The CARES Act includes provisions for the enhancement of SBA loan programs and tax deferral programs to assist companies during the COVID-19 crisis. Within the CARES Act, Title I “Keeping American Workers Paid and Employed Act,” nearly $350 billion has been appropriated for working capital loans under the newly established “Paycheck Protection Program” as well as, expansion of the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program (“EIDL”). An additional $10 billion has been appropriated for grants within the EIDL program, while relief is also available to staffing companies through the Employer Tax Deferral Program.
